The Comedian (Edward Blake)
This brute is all about mixing business with pleasure. With an obstructed moral compass, it's hard to feel any sympathy for him. He does what he wants, when he pleases, and refuses to acknowledge the word "sorry" as a part of the dictionary. Many believe that it was his attitude that was the majority of his downfall. The story of The Watchmen begins with The Comedian's death.
"This is a joke. This is all a joke."
-The Comedian, Watchmen

Rorschach (Walter Joseph Kovacs)
A notorious vigilante who obtains his name from his infamous mask which resembles a rorschach test. It constantly shifts with symmetrical ink-blot patterns. Despite his out-law status, he continues to fight crime. He sees the world as corrupt, and has made it his purpose in life to rid it of its filth.
"This city is scared of me. I've seen its true face."

Nite Owl ll (Daniel Dreiberg)
A retired superhero who is sprung back into action with the help of Silk Spectre ll. He takes his name from the retired crime fighter Hollis Mason. He use to be partners with Rorschach before the superheroes were forced into hiding. He is more or less a soft-spoken man who wants nothing more than to live the rest of his life in peace. But with the costs mounting, this only proves to me more difficult.
"What happened to us? What happened to the American Dream?"

Silk Spectre ll (Laurie Juspeczyk)
The daughter of the original Silk Spectre and The Comedian. She was Doctor Manhattan's lover for a number of years before the story kick-starts. Some time in she leaves him for Nite Owl, and they team up to get back into the crime-fighting business to stop their once friend, Ozymandias.
"People's lives take them strange places. They do strange things, and sometimes they can't talk about them... I know how that is."

Doctor Manhattan (Dr. Jon Osterman)
After a horrible lab accident, Jon is now a super-powered being who is contracted by the United States government. With his power over matter, he is a force to be reckoned with. And although he has a superior connection with matter, he seems to lack what matters - human compassion. We see him struggle in his final decision to come to the rescue once again after his conversation with Silk Spectre ll.
"You're going to try to convince me to save the world."

Ozymandias (Adrian Veidt)
Our mastermind. Credited to being the smartest man in the world, he uses this knowledge in morally questionable ways. He looks down on the rest of humanity and seeks to create a world of order out of the chaos he sees as Earth. He is both the gears, and the hammer to the doomsday clock.
"The only human being with whom I felt any kinship died three hundred years before the birth of Christ. Alexander of Macedonia."
-Ozymandias, Watchmen
